Legal CPD Courses Online | Datalaw

Learning never stops. This is practically true since people continue to learn every day. Regardless if you are a degree holder, a university student, or a high school drop-out, the process of learning is unconsciously incorporated in your way of life. As such, whether you know it or not, you are able to learn new things every day that you are actually being able to use with your journey in this life.

However, in the field of professional practice, learning should be consciously pursued. This is most importantly true for professionals like engineers, medical practitioners, legal CPD points and solicitors among others. These professionals deal with important undertakings that pose huge impacts on human, such as safety, life, and justice.

In England, lawyers or solicitors are required to participate in the continuous pursuit of knowledge. As such, a compulsory continuing professional development scheme was implemented in England since 1985. With the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme, all registered European lawyers and solicitors who work 32 hours or more per week are required to participate in the program.

The CPD scheme requires solicitors to participate in activities that promote professional development at least 16 hours per year. Twenty five percent of the 16 hours should be allocated for accredited training courses. However, for solicitors and registered European lawyers who practice less than 32 hours a week, the time requirement for CPD is reduced.

The Continuing Professional Development scheme is indeed very noble in a way that this encourages solicitors and lawyers to continually seek for knowledge and update themselves with the new trends in their professional work. However, it is also a known fact that solicitors are very busy, such that finding activities that would qualify under CPD is a little difficult for them. This is the reason why CPD accredited courses are offered online, and that is to help solicitors complete their CPD requirements despite their busy schedules. The Management Course Stage 1 is very important because this is a required course in the CPD scheme. The rest of the courses can be chosen by the individual for as long as these courses are accredited with the Solicitor's Regulation Authority.
